I rescue abandoned water fowl in the Jefferson county area that have been left to fend for themselfs at local parks. These domestic birds can't compete with the wild birds for food and can't fly to find it. Not being able to fly also makes them very vulnerable to predators, unkind people and freezing weather. They need good loving people to care for them.
Adopting a friend
Ducks are like any other pet they have special needs and finding out what they are before adopting can make for a much more enjoyable life for your pet. Personally I find them to be wonderful pets. The adoption process is very simple if you have proper set up for them which can be a fenced back yard with a kiddy pool and a shelter to lock them up in at night they would be happy.
