Who We Are

C.A.R.E. is a no-kill shelter with a sanctuary and rehabilitation center and an adoption center in Springfield and Ozark, Missouri. We are a non-profit 501(c) (3) charitable organization.
C.A.R.E.'s Mission: Our mission is to rescue as many adoptable animals from "death row" as we can properly care for. To provide medical treatment for sick or injured stray animals. To combine an aggressive spay and neuter program with a high volume adoption program while providing quality lifetime care for unadopted pets. C.A.R.E. has TWO locations! Come meet our adoptable cats at our Ozark Adoption Center cat room. We have some wonderful cats just waiting for their forever homes.

Upcoming Fundraisers and Events

C.A.R.E. For A Pounding! Come on out for ''C.A.R.E. For A Pounding,'' a co-ed bout hosted by Springfield's Queen City Roller Derby to benefit C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue! The bout will be held at Springfield Skateland, 5163 S. Campbell, on Sunday, March 11 from 6 - 8 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. C.A.R.E. will have a space set up with a few dogs and cats that are looking for their forever homes. There will be also an entertaining C.A.R.E. animal half-time show. If you bring any donation for the animals at C.A.R.E., monetary or items, you will be entered into a raffle to win some cool prizes! There will be a beer garden on the floor where you can see all the action as well as food and drink specials. Tickets cost $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets are available at Springfield Skateland, Mojo Pie Hair Salon, and C.A.R.E. Animal Rescue. VIP passes are available for only $2 extra. This gets you reserved seating in the section of your choice and early admittance before the bout. This event is going to be a blast! So mark your calendars for March 11, come enjoy the Roller Derby bout and support the animals!
2012 C.A.R.E. Calendars are now on sale for only $10 at the C.A.R.E. Adoption Center in Springfield and Ozark. Check out some of our furry friends that were adopted out to their forever homes. These would make great stocking stuffers and Christmas gifts for your friends and family. Wish List:

We rely entirely on the public's kindness and donations to care for our animals. We are not city or state funded. All monetary donations accepted. All donations are tax deductible. Items needed: premium dry food, cat litter-clay type-not the sand type, collars (any size), empty jet and laser ink cartridges, hoof treats, shredded paper, newspaper, bleach, laundry soap, towels, air freshener spray, postage stamps, latex exam gloves, stainless steel food bowls, puppy pads, puppy and kitten milk replacer, Thrift Store items, volunteers.
We are also in need of some new Kuranda beds. Please click on the picture for more information on how to donate a Kuranda bed.

Adopting a friend

All animals are available for immediate adoption unless noted as "multiple applications being taken". Our adoption fee is $85 and this helps to cover our vet fees to have the animal spayed or neutered and to give them their current vaccinations. If you see someone you might be interested in adopting you can either email me to check on the availablity of the animal, or you can visit our Adoption Centers at : 1328 W. Sunshine, Springfield, MO and also at 2012 W. Garton Road, Ozark, MO. Hours 10:00am-6:00pm 7 days a week.
