Well, movies such as "My Dog Skip", "The Mask" and many others, have certainly increased the interest level the public has in Jack Russells. For example, "My Dog Skip" features Moose and his son Enzo, two Jack Russell Terriers, in the starring role. Moose is well known for his character Eddie in the popular "Frazier" TV show, which, toward the end of the show was taken over by Enzo. And of course, most everybody's children know about the PBS show "Wishbone" of a few years ago. It seems like Jack Russells are showing up everywhere on TV, in ads, and in the movies. And they are so dern CUTE! BUT... please don't forget, the Jack Russell is first and foremost a hunting dog, and is definitely NOT the dog for everybody. The Russells you see in movies and on TV are highly trained, and the result of a lot of hard work is usually only a few minutes of usable film at a time. These are fearless hunters, very energetic and intelligent, and require firm and structured discipline, and LOTS of exercise to stay happy and be peaceful members of your family. They are a BIG dog in a small package, and they do everything at 150%!
