Who We Are
We are just a Dog Pound run by the Animal Control Officer. We are a small Pound and therefore we don't have the space to keep more than a few animals at one time. We hope Petfinder will help us to adopt out more of the animals. We have no choice but to put them down if they are not adopted out soon. So if you or someone you know may be interested in adopting a pet, please check out our animals.
Adopting a friend
To adopt one of our animals, you should come by the Police station and ask for Tammy. Tammy is the Animal Control Officer. She'll take you to the Pound to see the animals. The adoption fee is $25.00 unless stated otherwise. If by some chance we get to take any of them to the vet the fee would be slightly higher. You must fill out an adoption application. The State of Missouri requires that all animals adopted out be spayed or neutered. You will be required and responsible for having this done.
Come Visit Us!
Portageville is located right off Interstate 55 between the 32 and 33 mile marker. At the top of the exit ramp, turn towards town (McDonald's) and go to the 4 way stop. Go straight ahead, cross the R.R. tracks and go 2 blocks and the police station is on the left side of the street. From there, you will be escorted to the Dog Pound.
