Our Adoptable Pet List

Our Featured Pet...

All our pets are special, each in their own way, and because of our high intake of animals, they do not have much time to get adopted. If you see one you like, please contact the shelter right away. Due to the high volume of animals, we dedicate the majority of our time taking care of the animals. We ask that you Please come visit us in person to see if the pet you have found on this site is still available, or if your lost pet has been brought to our facility. We are a private non-profit organization, so in order to keep our doors open we count on the donations of people like you! We are in constant need of bleach, cat litter, dog / cat food, dog /cat treats, blankets, high efficiency laundry detergent, printer paper, volunteers, and of course CASH. Every little bit goes a long way for us. http://www.petfinder.com/awo/e-gift.cgi

Who We Are

Mid-Missouri Humane Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals. The Society operates an animal shelter and coordinates an animal adoption program, which strongly encourages spaying and neutering of all pets in order to control the pet population. We serve the following cities, towns, and/or counties: Sedalia, Warsaw, La Monte, Windsor, Lincoln, and many other towns in Pettis and surrounding counties. The Society operates solely from membership fees, donations, bequests, fundraising events, and contracts with area cities and towns. We receive no Federal, State, or City aid and do not have taxing authority. The organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors. All donations made to the Society are tax deducible to the extent the law allows. The Mid-Missouri Humane Society was founded over twenty years ago in order to provide this area with a safe place to take stray or unwanted animals.

Adopting a friend

Our adoption fees may range depending if the pet is altered or not. The adoption fee for dogs range from $35.00 to $75.00, and cat adoptions range from $25.00 to $50.00. Those that aren't fixed before they leave are required by the adoption contract to be altered within thirty days. The remainder of the contract requires basic good pet parenting. All adoptees must be kept current on vaccinations, must be provided a home with adequate food, water, shelter, attention, exercise, and LOVE !!All adoptees must be provided with vet care if they become sick or injured. All of our pets may be returned to us, if for some reason it does not work out, no questions asked!
