__________
We do not operate a shelter, nor do we display pets in a carnival style. Every pet is unique in both their personality & their abilities, as will be their new guardians. We require all to be crate trained, prior to placement & 95% are house broken.
___________
No pet may be adopted unless they are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heart worm free, and micro chipped. THERE IS NO EXCEPTIONS TO THAT RULE! Too many shelters allow pets to be adopted unaltered, allowing the often "UNWANTED" births. WE WILL NOT BE PART OF THAT PROBLEM.
___________
There are few exceptions to our fencing policy. We feel strongly that a pet should have a safe place to run freely without the hinderence of a leash. There are a few exceptions depending on the type of pet of interest and the life style of the adopting party.
___________
Our service to the animal welfare world is also unique in that we allow individuals who love their pets enough to take advantage of our web-site to place animals that they may have to give up in extenuating circumstances. Some common examples that we unfortunately hear are: " moving where pets can't be taken", "students not allowed to take their pets back home", "landlords not allowing pets "allergies",
"problems with existing pets" & worst case... those that chose a cute little puppy that they decided they didn't like after it grew up. Sadly their only resort may be the city shelter where the pets are often euthanized after being held five days.
__________
Therefore, if the owners agree to our rules, such as spay/neuter, vaccinations, etc. they may find a good home for their pets. We operate fully under a 501C3 status. Thus we support our organization with donations only. There really are pet owners, that must give up their pets. By helping them, we feel we in turn help the pet, possibly keeping him/her from falling into an ill fate.
__________
We also provide food, spay/neuter and vaccinations to most of these pets, that are awaiting new homes. As said previously, all pets are heartworm checked, spayed/neutered, parvo/dist. vaccinated and rabies vaccinated and micro chipped
___________
We are working on a new "Pet Watch" Program in the Greene Co. area, hoping to stop some of the abuse and neglect that we see much too often. We want to recruit anyone who really loves pets, so that we can provide a strong case against the people who refuse to comply with the laws and ordinances of ths area with regard to animal welfare. It is our goal to make our area a safe, healthy place to live for both people and pets. Want to get involved? Please call or e-mail and we will send you the information.
____________
We will be offering, food, education, help with fencing, low cost spay/neuter and even some transortation for their pet to go to the vet when needed. We cannot house animals or shelter them, because we do not have a shelter, nor do we want one.
____________
Our area, in the Ozarks is one of the worst in the nation for its numbers of unwanted pets. We are surrounded by breeding facilities. Rescue groups are bombarded with calls from individuals trying to find a home for an unwanted dog or cat. Shelters are always full & it is our belief that there are too many warehouses for now. The ideal is that they get one good, permanent home for life. The reality is many never do, but instead get moved from place to place, hoping that "someday" someone will really love them.
____________
We try to educate people to spay/neuter their pets, and to not choose the wrong pet for their family. Choosing a pet is a long term venture, many years in most cases. It is not like buying a new pair of shoes that can be pitched out when your tired of them.

Adopting a friend
____________
Pets are rehomed directly from their current owners and sadly enough, some simply run out of time and end up in a shelter. Their fate from there is not always desirable.
