Within the heart of every cat or dog lies the singular desire to be loved by someone. Are you that someone?
Newborn Rescue, is a licensed, non-profit, no-kill, foster home based operation, dedicated to the rescue and care of abandoned, unwanted, and neglected companion animals. We are experienced caregivers for companion animals specializing in newborn kittens. Since we opened in 1999 we have rescued and foster hundreds of newborn kittens and puppies most under 2 weeks in age when they came to us. We mostly take in kittens under 2 weeks in age where the mother had died, run off or was unable or unwilling to care for her kittens. We hand raise all our rescues, this takes a lot of time, effort and money, but it's a labor of love.
Our goal is to place every cat, kitten, dog, puppy or other pet we have available for adoption in the most compatible homes possible. The animal’s best interest is our top priority.
If you are not 21 or older, a legal citizen of the US, willing to fill out an adoption application, sign a adoption contract and pay an adoption fee. Please do not ask to adopt from us. Our Adoption Process: To adopt an animal from Newborn Rescue, you must first complete an adoption application, in which you will provide us with pertinent information about yourself and others living with you. You will then be interviewed by one of our volunteers to determine if the animal you want will fit into your lifestyle. We do not operate out of an animal shelter or have a main building, all our animals are in loving, temporary foster homes through out the Greater Kansas City area. Once approved, the prospective adopters can then have an appointment to meet the animal, interact with the pet and if all agree take the adoptee home with you.
We make every effort to spay or neuter all of our adoptable animals, those that are at least six months of age or older will be fixed. If an animal is not yet six months of age when it is adopted, we will require the adopter to sign a contract agrring to spay or neuter the pet when the pet is old enough and big enought to safely survive the spay/neuter.
We never have enough foster homes! We can only take in just so many animals at one time. We don't take in mother cats we have no room for them only space for the babies.
New animals can only be taken in when the current pets are adopted out.
When you adopt you are saving 2 lives the one you take home and the one that can now come into our rescue.
