CKR is now a foster home for Rat Terrier ResQ which is a national rescue group. Rescuing & placing Rat Terriers & you just never know what I might have as far as other breeds, because I do hold & board other rescue dogs for other Rescue Gorups. Mission Statement ---The mission of Chiodini Kennel & Rescue, is to take in & foster, unwanted, abandoned & sometimes abused dogs, until they are placed in loving permanent homes, in order to help provide a safe harbor for dogs that might otherwise be destroyed. All dogs are brought up to date on shots, spay/neutered, wormed, heartwormed tested, microchipped & treated for any known illness or injuries before going into their new homes.

I AM NOT A SHELTER, I am a state licensed in home Boarding/Grooming/Rescue Kennel (No Breeding). I am a Certified Pet Stylist/Groomer, Certified Dog Trainer, & I have turned my regular boarding bussiness over to rescue boarding, which means I now board rescue dogs, giving Rescue Groups a huge discount over what they pay at a lot of other boarding places. Chiodini Kennel & Rescue (CKR) which is Nadia Chiodini, is no longer able to rescue dogs on my own with no funding, so I have joined with Rat Terrier ResQ. Sadly the ACD is not much wanted around here, no matter how much I love them. So I had to switch to a breed that people do want. Ratties are a lot like Cattle Dogs in a little to medium size body. Some dogs that are posted may be posted up for other rescues, individuals & shelter's. Adoptions will be between you & them. We have nothing to do with them, other than posting the dog. We will however be happy to put you in touch with them. Thank You.

And now a word about Australian Cattle Dogs

The Australian Cattle Dog is a courageous, very tough, extremely loyal, highly intelligent working dog with strength & endurance unlike any other dog of its size. Australian Cattle Dogs are very athletic & capable of quick and sudden movement. Renowned for their protectiveness and loyalty to master & property, they are very selective as to who are friends or foe. Curious, but suspicious of strangers, and although gentle creatures by nature, they will show aggression if their family or property is threatened. Their devotion is unquestioned and they will lay down their lives to protect what is theirs. ACDs are one of the most versatile & highly trainable breeds of dog in existence today. Not only are they one of the greatest herding/working dog breeds, but they also make excellent family pets – in the right hands! ACDs are great dogs of choice if you want to do Obedience, Agility, Tracking or Herding competitions. Many Australian Cattle Dogs make great Hearing & Service Dogs. Australian Cattle Dogs are very loving, playful and always willing to please. It is most important to stress that the Australian Cattle Dog must be treated with respect; in turn he/she will give you the same courtesy. In disciplining them, they must be treated firmly but gently & fairly. It is also important to know they need lots & lots of exercise. Australian Cattle Dogs are not couch potatoes! Also known as Blue & Red Heelers, they are Very Tough, Very Active & Very Intelligent! Without direction from a fair & firm “Pack Leader” they can get into lots of trouble finding things to do on their own. With training, commitment & love, The Australian Cattle Dog is the Greatest Companion & Natural Family Protector you’ll ever find!

A word about Rat Terriers I fell in love with the Rat Terriers because they are very similar to the ACDs. They even share the same breed in their make up - the Bull Terrier. Ratties are for the most part calmer & not as tough, but they are still sturdy dogs & very tough for their size. The come in 4 sizes from very small 5-6# to about 35#. Their ears can be set 3 different ways, but must both be set the same. They are a totally awesome little to medium size dogs. They also come in many, many different colors. VERY IMPORTANT ~~ PLEASE READ BEFORE ADOPTING

Please remember Dogs Need Training!!! Do not expect to adopt a perfect dog. Yes, some are almost perfect & some may have minor problems that can be corrected with Love, Patience & most important ~ Proper Training. Even the “almost perfect dog” still needs training. Training is really teaching. Teaching your dog to be the companion you desire. When you teach a child, you do not work with him/her 10 minutes a day & that’s all it takes to develop a well educated child. You work with them all day & nights sometimes, teaching them the many things they need to know. It is the same with dogs. You must teach with them & work with them whenever they are with you. Dogs require Love, Time, Devotion & Commitment! Do Not adopt a dog if you are unwilling to commit. These dogs have been through a lot & do not deserve to go from home to home! They are looking for the Loving Forever Home Thank you & Enjoy you new companion.
