Benjamin

OK, so you want the coolest, friendliest, sweetest family dog. Well, We have him! His name is Benjamin and he is the sweetest dog on the planet! Check him out in these photos, he was so gentle with this little baby at our local fair. He was quite a hit at the fair, we had people from all over coming to our booth to see the dog (Benjamin) that was so sweet and friendly. Everyone was talking about him and telling people to go see "that cool dog at the STAFF booth". He is the perfect dog for a family with kids and other dogs. He is Housetrained!! He LOVES everyone! He is a lab mix and is pretty large so he would need a nice size yard that is fenced so he could roam around. He would love to be walked everyday and have his own family that would love him and that he could love! He will need to be housetrained but that is not hard and normally does not take more than a few days.

Scarlet

Scarlet is a very sweet, gentle, loving dog. She is a WONDERFUL dog, She is about 1 ½ years old and has been at the shelter since she was 6 weeks old. She was rescued along with her mother and siblings from the side of the road, they have all been adopted but Scarlet. Her brother Henry just recently found his forever home and now Scarlett is very excited to think that the same thing might happen to her!

We interviewed Her to see what she thinks about her brother being adopted and what it might mean for her:

“I am so excited that Henry got adpoted and I hear that his new owner just thinks he is GREAT! It gives me new hope for the future! I would love to have a home with my own bed and a family that I can watch over and love. I hope they find me soon, I can't wait to meet them!”

We interviewed Debbie, who volunteers here at the shelter and often takes Scarlet out to the play yard:

"I just love Scarlet! She is so much fun, she chases balls and comes when you call her, she loves to be petted and is a wonderful companion. She likes to hide her toys in the play yard and after running around a few minutes she likes to lay down in the shade. She gets along with the other dogs just great. I love to watch her have the freedom of the play yard and get a break from her kennel. She would make the perfect family dog! She has been here nearly 1 1/2 years and she deserves a loving family of her very own. I just feel so sad when such a wonderful animal spends most of their life in a kennel never getting the opportunity to be with a loving forever family..."

Who We Are

WE'RE VOLUNTEERS HELPING ANIMALS!!!

STAFF was built originally to house our Thrift shop and for our animals that are up for adoption. Our Thrift store is the main monetary base for the animals we rescue and for our ongoing spay/neuter financial assistance program that benefits our area animals. Our volunteers and staff are few but mighty. Those interested in helping should come to our building on Hwy 5 just south of the Morgan/Camden county line or call us at 573-374-2629. Memberships in STAFF are available. S.T.A.F.F. is a Missouri licensed animal rescue group dedicated to enhancing the life of our area animals. We support an ongoing spay/nueter program with financial aid available on a need basis. We are located just inside the northern edge of Sunrise Beach, MO. on Hwy 5.

Our adoption fee is $50 - $300 for dogs, and $40 for cats. The higher adoption fee on the young, purebred dogs helps offset the expenses on the large and small mixed breed dogs that wait longer for an adopter. While our personal belief is that all dogs should be treated equally, we must face reality. Given a choice, mutt over purebred, same smaller adoption fee, the mutts will generally be left behind.

You will receive a healthy friendly pet. All our animals have been treated for fleas/ticks, been wormed, received vaccination and rabies shots and have been sterilized unless too young. For the young ones, we require sterilization and we cover the cost.

As you can tell, the adoption fee does not cover all the expenses we have on the animal. STAFF pays the remainder of the costs by operating a thrift shop.

Come Visit Us!

STAFF is located just south of Laurie, MO. on the east side of Hwy 5. We are 1 and 1/2 miles south of the Route O intersection (main stoplight in Laurie). This is just south of the Camden/Morgan county line and at the northern edge of Sunrise Beach, MO.

Donate a Bed

Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please click here.
