Who We Are
4 the Hounds Basset Rescue, Inc., is a small, all volunteer, 501(c)3 non-profit rescue organization dedicated to helping Basset Hounds in need find safe and loving homes. We serve Bassets primarily in the 4 corners area of Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas that have been relinquished or abandoned by their owners, rescued from puppy mills, or pulled from municipal shelters.
Adopting a Friend
All of our dogs are thoroughly evaluated by a licensed vet, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, checked for heartworms and parasites (treated if necessary), and placed on monthly heartworm preventative as soon as he/she enters the rescue. You can be confident that you’re adopting a healthy hound.
We have several senior hounds available that are not pictured on the Available Hounds list. If you’re able to open your heart and home to a senior, please let us know. You may also consider being a Forever Foster. Many of these seniors simply need a warm, soft place next to a human to lay their head.

If you are interested in adopting one of our hounds, you can:
1) Submit a completed Online Adoption Application & Agreement,
2) Download the Printable Adoption Application & Agreement, then snail mail the completed form, or
3) Email Gail and request an application be snail mailed to you. Our Adoption Fee Schedule is as follows:
Puppies (< 6 months): $200 ($100 deposit required, refundable upon proof of spay/neuter)
Individual Dogs (6 months to 8 years): $175
Seniors (> 8 years): $100
Bonded Pairs (adults): $300
Bonded Pairs (seniors): $150
Basset Mixes: $100
