Who We Are
HELP Humane Society: HELP Humane Society Inc. is a non-profit organization currently run by a small group of animal lovers in Cass County, MO (just south of Kansas City).All HELP animals are treated by veterinarians receive age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, spayed/neutered and those incoming after Oct 2005, have been micro chipped. Cats have been FeLV/FIV tested and are negative unless otherwise stated. Dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative.
HELP now has a no-kill shelter. HELP does not take in any owner relinquished animals. HELP rescues stray dogs and cats from the streets. We have been told by many adopters that the reason they liked adopting form us is because we have a happy place and all the cats are the friendliest ones they had ever met. HELP feels that ALL animal’s are worth saving. We have many FIV and FeLV+ cats in our care. They will live with us until they end their life’s journey or find a permanent home.
Adopting a Friend
All animals are current on vaccinations, been spayed/neutered, dewormed, micro chipped and the cats have been FeLV/FIV tested and dogs heartworm tested.Adoption Fees: $90.00 for one or $150.00 for a pair.
Volunteering and Donations
We NEED VOLUNTEERS!We are a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation and we do not have the funding for staff. We have grown faster than our budget. HELP Humane Society is facing a financial crisis and need volunteers for the following:
*Daytime cleaning weekdays any hours between 8am to 5pm. (Even if you can only give a couple of hours a day or week would be a great help!)
*Petco Adoptions in Martin City, MO on the 2nd weekend of each month. We need help to transport a few animals and supplies . We also need help to man the station inside Petco from 11am to 3pm, on both Saturday and Sunday.
*Make Phone Calls
*Work Fundraising Events
*Write Grants
We also always need monetary donations and supply donations. Supplies we usually need most are bleach, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, paper towels, toilet paper, GermX hand sanitizer, liquid dish washer soap and large 39 gallon trash bags.
Come Visit Us!
Our hours of operation are Tuesday - Friday, 1pm - 8pm, Saturday 10am - 6pm, Sunday 12pm - 5pm, closed on Monday.
Our regular monthly meetings are at 7:00pm, the 1st Tuesday of the month. Meetings are held at our Shelter at 511 Main St., Belton, MO,64012. New volunteers are always welcome! Please, come and see what you can do to help homeless animals!
