MHS has launched the "FELINE FOSTER CARE PROGRAM" The purpose of this program is to : 1. Reduce the need to euthanize 2. Help during times of sickness 3. Help kittens with or without moms. 4. Help with fearful and tramatized cats 5. Help during times of overload at the shelter. For any program to succeed we are asking for your assistance. Become involved---the more homes we can count on eases the burn-out for the few. So by volunteering to help you not only help the cats, but you are helping your fellow caregiver. Who We Are
The Mesabi Humane Society is a non-profit organization (501 c3) that is run by a dedicated staff and volunteers, whose primary mission of the Mesabi Humane Society is to promote humane treatment through sheltering, alteration, adoption and community education. It is the policy of the MHS to provide humane care for all animals entrusted to us, to reunite lost pets with their owners and to find permanet homes for the homeless.
Adopting a friend
When you adopt a pet it is a "CHOICE" and "COMMITTMENT " you make for the care and safety of your "NEW FAMILY MEMBER" . Please keep your cat/dog at home day or night. This means cats/dogs. should wear appropriate collars or harness with ID tags, leashed, or kenneled when unsupervised. Never free roaming!! Always know where they are just because you "LOVE" them. Be a good neighbor because 'PET RESPONSIBLITY" begins with "YOU"
