Featured Cat

Becket

Becket is a beautiful, long hair guy who was found hiding under a vending machine at a truck stop during a snow storm. He had been there for 3 or 4 days. He was brought in to us skinny, full of fleas and had the tip of his right ear frost bitten which has since fallen off. He was a pitiful site to see. He has has been given his shots and feline leukemia tested (negative) and has since been treated for the fleas and has started gaining weight. He is now a beautiful looking guy who is still a little shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he is very friendly and wants to be petted. For what this poor guy went through and still be able to make friends with people is just amazing. He is currently living with Frankie and they get along quite well together, (althought Becket seems to like Frank a little more than Frank would like sometimes) so he would get along well with another cat. He gets along very well with our director's little boy who comes to visit, so I'm sure he would be alright with children, too. Dogs we are not sure about. Becket is up to date with routine shots, already house trained, and has been altered.

Featured Dog

Clyde

This is Clyde. He's a Sepala Siberian sled dog. He's about 2 yrs old. He loves to pull the sled and would make anexcellent skijoring dog. He really needs to be in a more one on one home, we have some other's and it just isnt' working well for him. He's a BIG sweetheart and has lots and lots of energy. He can jump like you wouldn't believe! He really needs to go to a good home. We rescued him from being euthanized, they just didn't have time for him and kept him chained in the back yard. Clyde is up to date with routine shots & has been altered.

Application and adoption fee are required.

The Humane Society of Freeborn County does not have a shelter. We rely on our outstanding foster homes for the love and care for our animals. Our current address at 206 W Clark Street is our business office ONLY. No pets are available for viewing at the office. To meet a pet you MUST make an appointment.

We require that you fill out an adoption application form which can be mailed to you or downloaded from our website. All our animals are up to date on routine shots. Most of our pets are already spayed/neutered. We require that all animals of breeding age be altered before they are released to their new homes. If the animal you wish to adopt has not been altered yet, you are responsible for the cost of alteration. We require kittens and puppies adopted from us to be altered at the appropriate time.
