RAVEN, a young male black Labrador retriever was adopted in 2005 by the law enforcement in Long Prairie, Minnesota and was enrolled in a narcotics detection program. Upon completion, he was then assigned to a Deputy Sheriff who likewise under went extensive training. Raven is now a valuable member of the Guthrie Center, Iowa law enforcement.

NEWS: Our 8th Annual Dog walk took place September 22, 2012. See more information on our Facebook site: www.facebook.com/PCHSMN On March 31, 2012 we participated in the 2nd annual Pope County Community EXPO at the MAHS. Our Class Act Thrift Store (CATS) opened at a new location this spring. We are now located just off Park Rd and across from ShopCo (previously Pamida.) We are open Thursday thru Saturday 9 AM - 4 PM. WHO WE ARE: The Pope County Humane Society was formed in 1985 and incorporated in 1987. We are a 501(C)3 tax exempt non-profit organization staffed by part-time employees and volunteers. Our mission is to prevent cruelty, neglect and abuse to animals and promote public education in the care of animals.

COME VISIT US!: Glenwood is located on the beautiful shores of Lake Minnewaska in west central Minnesota. We are about 125 miles northwest of Minneapolis. Our new shelter is located on 195th Ave (Cty Rd 35) just off east Hwy 28. Hours for adopting a pet are: 8 - 11 AM and 4 - 6:30 PM. We are open weekends too.
