We are always looking for awesome new foster parents. We work diligently to pair you with the perfect foster dog. We will NOT make you foster a dog you do not feel 100% comfortable with. Even if you have very specific criteria, let us know. As soon as we get a dog in that matches, we will let you know!! One life saved is worth it!!
Secondhand Hounds is a small, 501(c)3 status, volunteer-run rescue group based in Minneapolis. All of our dogs are in foster homes, where they are part of a family until they find their “forever” homes. We do not specialize in any specific breed, although we do have a soft spot for “bully” breeds! Please check out our available dogs! If you find one you would like to meet, please fill out the adoption application and we will be in contact as soon as possible (usually we will respond the same day you inquire).
The process works like this: * Fill out the adoption application, http://secondhandhounds.org/adoption-information/adoption-application/ (found at secondhandhounds.org) * We will get a hold of you within 24 hours * Set up a time to meet the secondhand hound you are interested in * Once you have met the pup, let us know if you are interested in adopting * If you are, we will do a home visit and bring an adoption contract for you to sign if the home visit goes well * You are welcome to bring your new baby home!!

Donations and adoption fees keep Secondhand Hounds up and running! We are pending 501(c)3, so if you don't feel comfortable donating via Paypal, we can always use physical donations of crates, food, bowls, leashes, collars, etc. Just email me at Rachel@SecondhandHounds.org for a drop off spot or shipping address!
