Our Featured Pet...

There are several super cute cats and kittens up for adoption right now. Wouldn't one look cute under your Christmas Tree? Spayed/neutered cats are only $50, and kittens are just $25. Please look at our available pet list and see what we have, we promise you'll find a new friend amongst our animals!!

Our animals need foster homes while we work toward finding them a forever home. We provide the food and cover all authorized medical expenses, all you need to do is simply provide a safe, loving home!

Why not take this opportunity to make a huge difference in the life of an animal who needs help?

We do not have a facility at this time so all of the animals we rescue are in foster homes. Unfortunately, until we have more foster homes we are limited on the number of animals we can save. If you or anyone you know can help foster any animals in our area please let us know; your help will be greatly appreciated.

Contact us to find out how easy it is to get involved in foster care!

Although the Faribault County Humane Society was originally established in 1985, its level of activity had fluctuated considerably over the years, finally ending with its dissolution. In July of 2008, Sue and Staci, along with Tessa, Nate, Dan, Elizabeth, and a few other key individuals, decided to re-establish this much needed organization!

Prior to the Humane Society's inception, all animals brought into the pound were euthanized if they were not claimed. Since our re-establishment in July of 2008, we have saved every unclaimed animal that has come into the pound. This is something we are very proud of!

Thank you to those who have offered your homes, your time, and your care to further our cause and give animals in need, a second chance! Thank you to those who have donated both the money and supplies essential to help save these animals. Together we are all truly making a difference!

To make a tax deductible donation, please make your check payable to Faribault County Humane Society and mail it to the following address:

If you are interested in adopting a pet from the Faribault County Humane Society please contact the FCHS by email: fchs1@hotmail.com.

If you are interested in adopting from FCHS you will need to fill out an adoption application to help us determine if you, and the pet you have chosen, are a good match. If you are approved for adoption, there is a fee and your signature is required on an adoption agreement.

Once you apply for an animal it generally will take 2 - 5 days to process your application. Oftentimes waiting for references to return our calls takes the most time! We will contact you as soon as your application has been reviewed. Occassionally we will receive multiple applications for the same animal. We will evaluate every application in the hopes of finding the best match for both adopter and adoptee. We appreciate your patience with our process.
