Stella and Yukon came to us on 10-24-09. They were found in the woods up north at 3 weeks old. They were 4 weeks old when we got them. After being place in foster care, the foster home notified us that Stella wasn't eating or drinking. After some extensive testing, the vet has confirmed that she has Giardia, Clostridium, and Isospora These are all fairly serious in and of themselves, but as a group it would be fatal without medical intervention, which includes an array of medicines and supportive care (IV fluids, pain medication, antiemetics and antidiarrheal medications, etc.) on an in-patient basis. We're going to have to have her in the vet clinic for a week or more.
Where does Yukon come into this? He was Stella's kennel mate while they were at their foster home and, as she had diarrhea and these parasites are transmitted thru feces, he must be treated as well. That doubles the cost we're facing to save these two lovable little balls of fur. There's no doubt that they're destined to be someone's forever companions, but we have to make sure they survive this illness.
We're asking for donations specifically for Stella and Yukon's treatment. While we work out credit card arrangements, we're asking if you would mail your donations to:
