Our organization does not have a facility, but utilizes foster homes. If you see an animal you would like to meet in person, contact us to arrange a meeting. You can also look for us the third Saturday and Sunday of each month at PetCo of Duluth, MN, from 12:00-4:00. This would be a great time to contact us if you are interested in volunteering what a better weekend / month than to foster a dog or cat.
~*PETCO ADOPTION DAYS*~ Our next adoption days at Petco of Duluth, MN are January 23rd & 24th from Noon - 4:00 p.m. Come meet your new friend and create a loving home for someone.
Ozzie is one of our oldest fosters and this holiday his wish is to have a home - he wants to know he has a place to lay his head, are you willing to help Ozzie start his new year off right?
OZZIE - 2 year old male Dalmation/Lab mix.
ARE YOU A SINGLE FEMALE LOOKING FOR A HANDSOME COMPANION? HAVE WE GOT THE GUY FOR YOU!
HE NEEDS A QUIET HOME AND WITH OZZIE THERE IS THE SPECIAL OF NO ADOPTION FEE, VACINES WILL NEED TO BE UPDATED. Somewhere out there is a special woman who likes her privacy, has a fair amount of free time she'd like to invest, and doesn't particularly like the company of many other people (particulary men). If this describes you, a special oportunity now presents itself. Well, that opportunity goes by the name, "Ozzie." We have featured Ozzie on this website for much too long. So we thought - maybe we're going about this thing all wrong! Maybe all Ozzie needs is an honest sales pitch! So this is it! In this boy's former life he must have been abused by a man and because of it he will always be afraid of men. Ozzie needs a tender loving woman to care for him that understands his fear. We don't want this boy to live out his life in foster care! Ozzie is a roughly 7 years old handsome Dalmation/Lab mix. He is also a great outside dog (as long as suitable shelter is provided), and would be a good watchdog. He gets along with female dogs, but not male dogs (obviously). We've had this boy for nearly 7 years! Come on special lady - if you're out there, your prince awaits!! If you are interested in Ozzie, please call Kathy at 218-729-1485, or email NLAR at email@example.com
Northern Lights Animal Rescuers, Inc (NLAR) is a non-profit group dedicated to saving the lives of animals. We specialize in rescuing primarily harder to adopt animals like large breed dogs, pregnant or nursing dogs and cats, and infant animals. We also take special needs animals.
NLAR is also unique in its willingness to rescue bully breeds that would otherwise be destroyed under many of the areas shelter and rescue policies.
WE ARE A NO KILL RESCUE!
Northern Lights Animal Rescuers, Inc.
We are always looking for foster homes and donations to offset the cost of helping our four legged friends. Please contact Kathy 218-729-1485 if you would like to volunteer or make a donation to our cause.
If you are looking for kittens send us an email we have a slew of them that will be ready to go shortly.
NLAR strives to maintain our 100% spay and neuter rates, and participate in an early alter program where animals are spayed or neutered as early as 8 weeks of age. We strive to do what we can to stop the cycle of creating more unwanted and abandoned animals.
NLAR really strives for succesful adoptions! To ensure this success we offer a 2 week trial period on all adoptions. If the adoption should not work out within the 2 week timeframe you can return the animal to us for a full refund. Even at any point after the adoption should you decide you no longer want the animal, you are still required to return the animal to us.
WE NEED FOSTER HOMES!
Our organization is currently looking for foster homes for cats and dogs. Even if you can only help once, or can take only one animal, we still want you. We provide all the food, vet care, and supplies. You supply the love and care. If you love animals, and want to help, please contact us at the phone number or email address provided below.
DO YOU WANT TO BE A NORTHERN LIGHTS VOLUNTEER?
If you want to help us to help our rescued animals - please volunteer! You get paid in kitty snuggles and puppy kisses. What could be better than knowing you're doing something to help these needy animals find a home. Please call us if you're interested in helping!
Northern Lights always appreciates the donations that we receive from "you" animal lovers out there. We can't get by without them!
But, we also need other things that you might just have laying around the house gathering dust: gently used dog/cat beds, toys, pet dishes, collars, leashes, blankets, dog houses, and kennels/kennel runs.
Do you have any of these things cluttering your home that you'd like to get rid of?
Put them to good use by donating them to one of our needy rescue animals!
Your house will be clean and you'll feel good knowing there's a happy dog or cat using your generous donation. Call Kathy at (218) 729-1485 to arrange a donation drop off.
PLEASE spay or neuter your pets. There are NOT enough homes for all these animals! To quote a great rescue motto, DON'T BREED OR BUY WHILE RESCUE AND SHELTER ANIMALS DIE." Adopt a spayed or neutered rescue animal.
