We do not bring all of our animals to the Adoption Days, so please contact us before each event if you are interested in meeting a particular animal.

Sunbear Squad is a non-profit humane organization that seeks to prevent pet and domestic animal suffering by educating and empowering individuals to advocate for animals in a positive and assertive manner. One person helping and one animal helped builds a kinder and more compassionate world.

Why Rescue?
"We don't get the elegantly coiffed, classically beautiful, completely trained, perfectly behaved animal. We get the leftovers -- dogs and cats that other people have incompetently bred, inadequately socialized, ineffectively "trained," and treated badly.
Most rescue animals have had it. They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another. They've never had proper veterinary care, kind and consistent training, or sufficient company. They've lived tied outside, in a crate, or in the basement. They're scared, depressed and anxious. Some are angry. Some are sick. Some have given up.
But we are Rescue and we don't give up. We never give up on an animal. We know that each animal is a living being, with a spirit and a heart and feelings. Our animals are not commodities, things, or garbage. They are part of sacred creation and they deserve as much love and care and respect as the next Westminster champion.
So please, please don't come to rescue in the hopes of getting a 'bargain; -- or, indeed, of 'getting' anything. Come to Rescue to give, to love, to save a life -- and to mend your own spirit. For Rescue will reward you in ways you never thought possible. I can promise you this: a rescue animal will make you a better person."

We also have three, 60 ft. X 60 ft. grassy play yards for our canine buddies to romp and roll in and chase their favorite toy. Our dog building has six doggie apartments (the walls are even made from 100% recycled material!) . Each apartment is furnished with rugs, a soft bed, a doggie door to an outside yard and of course - toys!!
