Featured pet is Miley, our tennis ball addict. She would chase tennis balls until your arm fails from exhaustion. She is a pretty little red smooth purebred. Her age is estimated to be 2yrs.
She is very affectionate with those she knows, but a bit shy at first like most chows. In addition her eyes are perfect......she is crate trained, already spayed/vaccinated, and housebroken. She is not terribly impressed with other dogs and would prefer to be queen bee in her home. Please see her listing in our available dogs for more info.
The smooth coated chow is not common, but we personally have owned smooth chows and can testify that the coat care is MUCH easier than the long coated chows. Who We Are
We are a small, independent chow chow rescue located in southwestern Minnesota. We primarily are asked to take homeless chows from shelters in the Midwest and prepare them for adoption into loving permanent homes. All our adoptees are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm checked if old enough.
We cannot take owner surrenders, but would be happy to help owners find new homes for their chows by courtesy posting them on this site.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption process includes an application which can be received via email, filled out, and returned via email; reference checks, a home visit, and an adoption contract. We ask for an adoption donation to defray the expenses of vetting and food.

Volunteers to walk dogs around our small town are needed to accustom our shyer chow chows to walking near traffic and meeting people. It is great exercise for both the volunteer and the dog.
