Our Featured Pet...

St Patrick's Day brought a brutal surprise to one Branch County resident and a number of dogs he owned when his rental home exploded due to a gas leak. Miraculously he and the dogs, mostly chihuahuas and chihuahua mixes, survived. Without a home to offer, the gentleman called upon local rescues to help him rehome his dogs. Animal Aid has taken in 4 of these sweethearts, ranging in age from about 2 to 6 years old. They are still quite timid but are all very sweet tempered. Email us at to inquire about our adoption process.

Animal Aid is pleased to work with the staff of the Branch County Animal Shelter in an effort to rehome homeless animals from Branch and Hillsdale Counties. We emphasize shelter adoptions, foster and adopt out some animals in our own program, and work with other rescues who do the same. These mutual efforts have brought a drastic reduction in the euthanasia rate at our public shelter in just a short time.

Who We Are

Animal Aid of Branch County, or AABC, is a grass roots organization that is dedicated to the well-being of Branch County's animal population. Our goal is to end animal homelessness and to promote owner responsibility in Branch County. AABC members now serve Branch and Hillsdale Counties in Michigan. We are a 501c3 organization. As an all volunteer organization we are always grateful for donations to help offset the costs of vetting our fosters and for the supplies they need. Check out our wishlist on for a few specific needs. Monetary donations may be mailed or donations can be made online using the Petfinder Sponser this Pet button shown on our listings.
