Our Featured Pet...Jack

Jack's story...
Jack is believed to be a Retriever / Border Collie mix, who is approximately one year of age. He was found chained up with the chain embedded in the front of his neck.
This little boy is a 38 pound bundle of energy, enthusiasm and affection. As a result of his previous situation, his foster Mom is starting from scratch with obedience training and house manners, as well as providing an outlet for his boundless energy. He loves to jump and play, hence the name “Jack” as in Jack Rabbit!
His neck wound has been treated with minor surgery and antibiotics and has healed nicely. He has been neutered, He has been treated for worms and UTD on shots.
This is a very sweet, fun-loving boy with puppy “charm” who wiggles his entire body when you pet him. He just needs the right family to adopt him, that is patient and understanding of his youthfulness and inexperience.
As we are getting to know Jack, he has demonstrated some guarding. He would be suited for a family without small children or other dogs. His new family needs to be experienced in managing and training Jack along with meeting the needs of a high energy dog.
Jack is being cared for in Northern Michigan. For more information, please contact his foster mom at northstar@pentel.net
