What's more fun than a barrel of monkeys? Why - a pair of kittens, of course! Gilbert (dark) and Sullivan (orange) are the survivors of the litter of 4 bottle-fed kittens. Because they were hand raised, they are very human-oriented and affectionate. Gilbert loves to be snuggled with his back against the human's chest, while Gilbert prefers to perch on a shoulder and rub his face against the human's jaw. They are active, playful, and endlessly amusing. They are also both very handsome, and will be gorgeous cats when they grow up. Because we believe that kittens are best in pairs (they spend all their energy on each other and get into lots less trouble than a singleton kitten does), and because Gilbert and Sullivan are very bonded, we would like to place them together and will offer a reduced fee for the pair.
Who We Are
We are a small group of volunteers responding to the needs of homeless pets in our community. Most of our pets are strays, were rescued from our local county animal control shelter, or are discarded puppymill dogs. (Sorry, we cannot accept puppies or kittens at this time, unless you are willing to allow us to take the mother to be spayed at your expense.) We do not have a physical shelter, the cats and dogs foster in our homes where their physical, medical, and psychological needs are attended to. All dogs are temperament tested, and receive training in basic obedience.
Adopting A Friend
Our goal is to make the best possible match between dog/cat and adopter. The adoption procedure begins with submission of an application. (See below.) Once the Board gives its initial approval, we do a vet reference check and a home visit. Upon satisfactory completion of these requirements, we proceed to an adoption and contract. If we are unable to find the right home locally we are happy to consider homes outside our geographical area, but we do not ship pets; adopters must be able and willing to pick up the dog/cat and complete the contract.
The adoption fee for cats is $100 and covers spay/neuter, FeLV/FIV testing, worming, and FVRCP vaccination. (The fee for a companion cat is reduced when both are adopted together. We prefer to place kittens under a year of age in pairs whenever possible.) The adoption fee for dogs is $180 and covers spay/neuter, microchip, worming, heartworm antigen test (adults), rabies and DHPP vaccinations. (Occasionally, the adoption fee will be a little higher for a pet that required more extensive medical care.)
