Become a Cat Caregiver at Petsmart!! !
Our cat caregivers are volunteers, ages 16years+ who come to Petsmart one evening a week to spend quality time with our cats in the Adoption Center. While the cats are running free inside the closed door, our volunteers clean the cages, change water and food, and either dump or scoop the litter. (You will be trained in the specifics) After the cages are cleaned, time is spent visiting, brushing, feeding canned food treats, and cuddling our kitties.Help at PETsMART Adoption Events!
We can also use help with our adoption events. We hold bi- weekly adoption events at the PETsMART. Volunteers can help introduce potential adopters to our cats, as well as help give the animals lots of attention! We are looking for people to help match the right cats with the right owners, and to process the adoption!
Help at Special Events!
In addition to our regular events, Tigerlily will participate in special events like the Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo at the Detroit Zoo, the PetaPalooza adoption fair, and Santa Pictures offered each December at PETsMART. We can always use help at these events too!
Help in Other Ways!
You can help Tigerlily kitties in many ways!!
Transporting animals is another way to help. We need help transporting animals to and from veterinary appointments or to foster home destinations.

Adoption Requirements
* We do require adopters to be at least 21 years old.
* If you are leasing, we do ask that you provide a copy of your rental agreement showing that cats are allowed.
* We also ask that all adults living in the home agree with the adoption and addition of a feline friend to the family.
* For families with young children (under 6), kittens over 6 months are best.
* If the pet is to be alone for a significant amount of time, we ask that you consider adopting an older kitten or adult, or consider adopting two kittens to keep each other company. Young kittens are susceptible to social-depression if alone for a significant amount of time.
* We also discourage "gift" adoptions unless it is from a parent to a minor child.
* We do not permit 4-paw declawing of our cats. Often, 4-paw declawing leads to behavioral problems. Front-declawing is not advisable for cats over 1 year old. We encourage alternatives to declawing, such as nail trimming and scratch-training. Please ask us if you have any questions about these alternatives!
