Pets on Parade Inc. Exotic Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Sanctuary. 501(C)3. Preserving, Protecting & Prolonging the lives of Unwanted Captive Exotics. Here at Pet's On Parade we try to help any and all unwanted pets or pets that you can no longer care for. However, we are an exotic animal rescue! We are currently accepting Birds, Reptiles & Small animals such as rabbits, gliders, coati, guinea pigs, degus, ferrets, chinchillas, rats & mice etc. Est. 1985. We have been dedicated to helping animals since 1985. A few years ago we lost our home, our shelter and most of everything we owned. Thousands of dollars in foods, cages, supplies etc. What wasn't lost was stolen. However, we are back and hopefully on the way to becoming bigger and better. We are always accepting cages, aquariums, foods and supplies. Please call 989-443-1972. Emergency situations call anytime, we will try to help. We are in need of Cedar Shavings and Rodent food. Please meet Buddy!
Buddy was a 2 year old Green Wing Macaw (baby) when he arrived at the shelter. We were told on the phone call preceeding his arrival, to be prepared for an evil, unrully , (#%^*!@+) bird that wanted to attack everyone!. I said O.K. ! When Buddy arrived he was in a small wire dog crate (blue Puppy prevue hendrix). He had no tail feathers. His beak was crushed. He had no wing tips or flight feathers. He seemed as though he could not see properly. He had a chunk of Firewood 12 inches long wedged in the corner of the cage. He had a Hamster water bottle wired in the corner of this cage. When the Man arrived in this tiny hatchback car and came up to the door, I was waiting for a truck or another vehicle to bring the Bird and his cage. The Man and I were talking for about 20 minutes or so when I finally asked, Are they gonna be here soon? He asked Who? I said the bird? He said Oh, that (#@$$%&#) is in my trunk! I could not believe we were here talking for 20 minutes or more and this poor animal was in his trunk the whole time. When I asked him to please go get him out of the trunk, the man asked if I had any steel gloves or something so I would not get bitten. I said PLEASE just bring him in. The man brought the cage in with these huge gloves on, this poor petrified baby Greenwing Macaw was in thecorner. His wing tips had been cut off, his poor little butt was raw from a of his beautiful tail feathers being ripped out through the cage every time they grew or every time he screamed. I could not not believe the things this man was telling me. Come to find out this man hit Buddy with a baseball bat. He told someone at the Pet store that the bird was always trying to attack him. In reality it was a baby bird wanting to get up to be held. He tried to climb the only way he could, (with his beak) and the man thought he was trying to attack. CONT.)

We will soon be having a large pet supply saleof used items. These items will include, bird cages, dog cages & crates, reptile supplies, aquariums, lids, tops, lights,aquarium plants, reptile plants, stands, shelves etc. Please email if you have an interest. If anyone is willing to help us with this website please email us as soon as possible. Certain pets are now available, but please read the following.
Please email us or call and leave a detailed message one time only. We DO NOT have time to call people back wondering why they called. If you do not leave a detailed message as to why you are calling then we will not return the call. Emergency situations, leave a message in detail. We care for many animals and they all need attention so please be patient! I am not in any hurry to adopt animals out, Nor will I make quick choices to push them out the door. We check our email once or twice a day if possible. We will not return phone calls unless you leave a name, number and detailed message as to why you are calling! Sorry, children calling will not be responded to for any reason! Thank you for your patience and understanding.This page will be updated and pictures will be provided as soon as I can possibly find the time.
