Who We Are
We are a very small all-volunteer non profit (501c3) animal rescue group comprised of 2 sisters and a few animal rescue friends. We are dedicated to placing homeless animals in permanent, loving responsible homes.
SO YOU ASK, WHERE ARE THE PUGS? Well, we do love pugs, but we love all dogs and cats too. Why are we called "Pug Lady Kingdom" with no pugs? Well, my little queen of the household is lady pekingese. In the summer we cut her hair short, and with her coloring, we knicknamed her "Pug Baby". My sisters boyfriend (at the time) was kind enough to set up our 501 c-3 paperwork for us, and always heard us refer to my little one as "pug baby". Not being a dog person, when he filled in the name of our rescue, he knew we were the "ladies" and it was our "kingdom" and I had a "pug" (which was really my peke!!)
So, we are "Pug Lady Kingdom!" And, he is now an ex!!!!

Pug Lady Kingdom has a
cash-only policy on adoption fees.
Every canine and feline over the age of 6 months is spayed/neutered prior to adoption, and all animals ready for adoption are
current on vaccinations, have tested negative for heartworm (dogs) and feline
leukemia/FIV (feline AIDS) (cats), and have been dewormed. For animals
less than 6 months of age, state law requires that the adopter sign a contract
that he/she will get the animal spayed or neutered by the time it reaches 6 months
old. Pug Lady Kingdom holds a deposit that is refunded when proof of spay/neuter is
provided.
Adoption fees provide some recuperation of costs associated with providing in-home and necessary veterinary care while the animal is in our program. Oftentimes the standard adoption fee is less than what we've incurred in costs.
The benefit of adopting from an organization that provides in-home foster care is that the
animal's behavior has been evaluated by their care providers in a natural living environment, rather than the oftentimes unpleasant surroundings of a shelter. PLK foster care providers care for the animals as if they are their own, and learn to know the animal's likes and dislikes, ability to co-exist with other animals, ability to tolerate children,
and so forth.
*Fees may occasionally be different than published
due to circumstances surrounding individual animals.
ANIMALS
WHO URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP
Daisy
Most animals in our program need just routine veterinary
care - vaccines, heartworm or FIV/Feline Leukemia "combo" tests,
deworming, and spay/neutering. Occasionally, though, we become temporary
guardians of animals in need of more serious medical help. Our adoption
fees, donations, and fund-raisers will usually cover the cost of routine
veterinary care for the many animals in our care, but to help the seriously ill
or injured animals that make their way to Pug Lady Kingdom, we need additional
funds. The stories of these "special needs" animals are
described below. If one of their cases tugs strongly at your
heart-strings, please considering making a special donation to Pug Lady Kingdom to help
them. Please include the name of the animal you are helping, and send your
donation to
