This list will have posts of beagles in high kill shelters and will allow owner surrenders as well. These dogs are NOT affiliated with THBR but it is simply a service to help save more lives.

Thanks to everyone who has sent us donations, they have been put to good use!!

We are hoping to have a small property at some point that would allow us to house more beagles.

Have a wonderful summer and please adopt!!!!!

We are always looking for foster homes and donations, please contact us if you can help in any way.

We use Patented Kuranda Fleece Pads because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a Fleece Pad to us, click here.

Who We Are:

We are a two woman team who love beagles and want to do as much as we can to help them. We are a very small rescue and can only take a few animals at a time, but we do what we can. We pull our dogs mainly from very high kill pounds and give them a shot at finding a family to love them. We have no kennel. All of our dogs are kept in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only. We are often able to meet you at a local pet store with the beagle you are interested in fairly quickly.

Adopting a friend:

To adopt a friend please e-mail for an application and one will be sent out right away. We will conduct a home visit and vet check and have a meet and greet with the beagle of your choice. All of our beagles are up to date on vaccinations and spayed or neutered. *Some animals may be adopted on a pre-paid spay/neuter contract due to age or special circumstances*

The Beagle is an all around happy dog that makes a wonderful companion for many different families. This breed adapts to many different environments and lifestyles, if not all. The Beagle is very eager to please, and is very intelligent however training must be consistent as this breed tends to lose interest and focus on something that catches his attention. This breed does extremely well with children, and does exceptionally well with other pets if socialized properly. The oldest living dog in the world was a beagle he lived to be 26!!

More Info:

Re-homing your beagle with Truffle Huffers Beagle Rescue: We are a very small rescue and at this time do not have enough room to take in every beagle needing a home. If you need to find a new home for your beagle and would be willing to keep your beagle until the new home is found contact us we can help! You would bring your beagle up to date on vaccines and have it spayed or neutered and sign ownership of the beagle over to us, then sign a foster contract and we would list the beagle here. We would take the beagle to showings and be responsible for any further vet care it needs. Please consider giving your beagle a shot at another life before dropping him/her at an over-crowded, under-funded shelter.
