Who We Are
Keweenaw Spay Neuter Assistance Group is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization formed to help alleviate the problem of companion animal overpopulation through spay/neuter assistance and education. Volunteers hold fundraising events and accept donations that are then used to assist animals in distress and to financially assist pet owners who are unable to afford the entire cost of spaying or neutering their pet. K-SNAG members transport animals to vet clinics for elderly residents who do not have available transportation. They also speak to and educate the public regarding the benefits of spaying and neutering companion animals. We also care for and find new, permanent homes for animals that are homeless. Stray animals are placed in foster care until a permanent home may be found. K-SNAG is made up of ALL VOLUNTEERS. We serve Keweenaw, Houghton and Baraga Counties but will help any animal, in any way that we are able.
Adopting a friend
To adopt an animal from K-SNAG call our telephone number to speak with a volunteer. We require adopters to complete an adoption application. The application will be reviewed and references checked. As soon as this review is completed potential adopters will be notified of their application status. We appreciate a donation at the time of adoption to help defray the cost of veterinary care that the animals receive while waiting to be adopted.
