Who We Are

The Tuscola County Animal Control Shelter is dedicated to the welfare of the animals and safety of the citizens in Tuscola County. The Tuscola County Animal Shelter is located in a very rural area and consists of 12 dog kennels and 7 cat cages. We work very hard to place our animals, but unfortunately not all animals are placed and some have to be humanely euthanized due to limited space and funding.

Licensing

All dogs must be licensed by 4 months of age. Please remember that a license sitting in an envelope in a drawer does not do any good. The license is your dog's ticket home. If we pick up a dog with a license we are able to immediately get him/her back home to their family. If the license is lost, it is free to replace within the calender year.

Spay/Neuter Your Pets!!! There are not enough homes for all of the pets currently in shelters, rescues, and humane societies. Please help end the hurt by getting your pet fixed. Only when we reduce the population of pets born every year can we become a no kill nation!

Adopting a friend

If you are interested in adopting a pet please fill out the adoption application listed below. The adoption application is required before you can adopt a pet. This is for the benefit of your family and our pets. The application tells us about the applicant and helps guide us in placing the correct animal in the right forever home. Once a COMPLETED application is received, a representative of TCACS will review your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. TCACS reserves the right to refuse an application. By filling out an application, you are not obligated to adopt an animal from us and you are not guaranteed one of ours. It normally takes 2-10 days to process the application.
