MI Fox Terrier Connection is the effort of individuals who are devoted to Fox Terriers.
Fox Terriers - both the smooths and the wires - are not for everybody. Terrier people are their own breed, just as terriers are. We happen to love them and work hard to match fellow terrier lovers with foxy friends.
Smooths and Wires used to be two varieties of one breed, but 25 years or so ago officially became separate breeds. Each breed has its own quirks, but both are energetic, funny, feisty characters. The biggest difference is the coat types; thus the terms wire and smooth. Smooth Fox Terriers look a bit like tall Jack Russell Terriers with long noses. Wire Fox Terriers have the classic terrier beard and gentlemanly style. Smooths shed, wires do not - but do require regular grooming. While different in appearance and coats, both breeds are all terrier! Bred to hunt - or "go to ground" after vermin - they retain the terrier instincts, regardless of the differing looks.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption process includes an adoption application, a veterinary reference check, and a home visit. Adoption fees cover the veterinary and care expenses that we put into each individual Fox Terrier. Thus fees vary by dog. Our goal is to make permanent connections, so we strive to match the right dog with the right home.
We are not a facility, but rather dedicated foster homes. Use the contact information on our individual available pet listings to find out more about the Fox Terriers currently looking for loving homes.
