Turning Pointe Donkey Rescue became a reality in October 2004 when
an enthusiastic group of people got together and decided that many
nice donkeys were unwanted, unappreciated and often found
themselves in the meat pen at an auction.
We are a Michigan based non profit organization dedicated to the health
and welfare of miniature, standard and mammoth donkeys.

Donkeys must be provided with a safe and sturdily fenced area along
with a dry shelter for protection from the elements. Donkeys require
clean, mold-free hay and a constant source of fresh, clean,
unfrozen water.
Required healthcare includes current vaccinations and Coggins and
proper hoof care and trimming. (All donkeys receive current
vaccinations, Coggins and a visit from the farrier before they are
placed in adoptive homes. Males are also neutered.)
All donkeys must have an equine companion
such as a horse, donkey or mule, at their adoptive home.
Turning Pointe Donkey Rescue has the right to visit the donkey(s)
and to monitor the placement. If the adoption is deemed
incompatible or unsuitable for any reason, Turning Pointe Donkey
Rescue shall have the right to cancel the adoption and refund the
adoption fee.
The adoptee agrees not to sell or transfer the donkey(s) without giving
Turning Pointe Donkey Rescue the first right/option to repurchase
the donkey(s).
Visit our web address at www.turningpointedonkeyrescue.com for all necessary information on adoption and adoption papers.
