Who We Are
Lake County Animal Control is is a County run facility that is a division of the Lake County Sheriff Department.
Lake County Animal Control is a non-profit orginization, We have a total of 20 kennels for dogs and puppies, and 8 cages for cats and kittens. We try to house animals as long as health and space permit. There are two full time ACO's on duty that share in all the responsibilities that are needed to keep the facility up and running.
We are available for appointments by calling 231-745-3079 Monday through Sunday 8:30 am till 3:00pm
Adopting a friend
Cats & Kittens are $10.00 adoption fee + a $25.00 deposit, which is returned after your new pet is spayed or neutered. Dog and Puppies are $20.00 adoption fee + $25.00 Deposit, which is returned after your new pet is spayed or neutered. We will also be charging a Rabies Vaccination / Licensing deposit of $15.00, which is also refundable after proof of licensing is verified. All animals must be spayed or neutered within thirty (30) days from the time they become six (6) months of age, or within thirty (30) days of adoption if six (6) months or older at the time of adoption.
Many of the animals come in as strays, therefore little is known of thier health or behavorial history. We urge you to call and ask questions concerning any pet that you may be interested in adding to your family. We will try to help as much as we possibly can.

Directions from Baldwin: Go 3 miles North to Junction M-37 and US-10, turn East (right) onto 24th St. Go East 1 mile to second dirt road to the right, Dog Track Road . Right to the second set of gates on the Left. There are signs posted at both the M-37/US-10 Junction and on 24th St/ Dogtrack Rd.
