The Brownstown Animal Shelter is now open for adoptions and tours every Friday from 4pm to 6pm. Please stop by and visit us, even if you aren't planning to adopt an animal right now.
We are in need of canned kitten food, wet cat food, cat crates (for off-site adoption events coming in the near future), dog treats, collars, and leashes. Also if you have a dog crate that you no longer need we could really use those too. As always we need loving people and families to come in and adopt a shelter animal! Thank you in advance for helping us make Brownstown Animal Shelter a place to find your fur-ever friend !!!!
**A HUGE "THANK YOU" TO WALMART OF SOUTHGATE FOR DONATING ON A CONTINUING BASIS. IT IS VERY GENEROUS OF YOU!**

We had the Grand Opening of our very own Dog Park at the end of April 2012!! We are excited to have this park in front of the shelter, The Friends of the Brownstown Animal Shelter volunteers will be taking care of the park to ensure that it is kept clean of doggie doo doo so everyone may have a wonderful experience at the park with their furry friends. Please be mindful of cleaning up after pet and help us keep this park in pristine condition so that everyone that is registered may enjoy a good time and meeting new friends. Registration is $25.00 for residents and $35.00 for non residents per year. Dogs must have proof of rabies, bordatella, distemper/ parvo vaccines & the dogs must also be licensed thru the township if you live in Brownstown. You can register your dogs at the Brownstown Water Dept.
WHO WE ARE
We are the Brownstown Township Animal Shelter. The ACO names are Marty and George!
The Brownstown Animal Shelter is rescue friendly. Please call the shelter at (734) 675-4008 if you would like to pull any of the dogs or cats!!! If no answer, please leave a message. Please come and take a look, we always have a wonderful pet waiting for a home. Remember to bring a collar and a leash with you if you are adopting a dog. A cat carrier if you are looking to adopt a cat.
All of our stray dogs and cats are kept for 4 days before being put up for adoption. If they are an owner give-up then they are available for a new home right away! Our web site is updated on a daily basis, so if you don't see what you are looking for keep checking back. We get dogs and cats in almost everyday.
ADOPTING A FRIEND
Please come in and see who we have. There is always a precious cat or dog in need of a home. Although we cannot guarantee the health or temperament of an animal, the ACO does the best he can to evaluate each animal. However most are strays and some are turned in with limited information. We do the best we can to evaluate each animal.
P.A.W.S. Clinic in Taylor offers excellent prices on spay/neuter and shots for your newly adopted friend. We have flyers at the shelter or call them for pricing at (313) 451-8200. Or visit their site at thepawsclinic.com.
