Who We Are
Paradise Animal Rescue, Inc. is Lapeer County's first and only animal protection shelter registered with the Michigan Department of Agriculture. Founded in 2002, we are an all volunteer, federally recognized non-profit organization. Our Mission is to improve the quality of life of community animals by providing humane education, promoting birth-rate reduction programs, rescuing abused and abandoned animals and re-uniting lost pets with their families.
Paradise Animal Rescue, Inc. is funded solely by tax-deductible donations and does not receive local, state or federal funding. Our largest expenditure comes from providing necessary veterinary care including surgeries, sterilization, vaccines and much, much more.
Adopting a friend
All prospective adoptive families are interviewed by an adoption counselor prior to adoption. This interview and associated adoption application is used to find the perfect match for each pet and new family. We also strive to strengthen the human-animal bond and provide forever homes for all animals under our care. Unless otherwise noted, our adoption fees are as follows:
Dogs and puppy - $195.00
Cats and kittens - $140.00
and includes each animals health and temperament testing, rehabilitation, spay/neuter, vaccines, testing for disease and day to day care.
Volunteers and donations
Please call (810)739-5683 to make tax deductible donations and find out about possible volunteer opportunities. A list of items desperately needed for donation is provided on our website (parpets.org). PAR is in need of foster homes. We are unable to save the hundreds of pets who need help without loving people who are ready and willing to open their hearts and homes. Dogs, puppies, kittens and cats need a safe haven, with loving people to prepare them for life with a forever family.
