News

We have many “sponsored pets” available. Thanks to the local community and business owners, a “sponsored pet “ is a pet that came into the shelter, and a very kind person and/or business has donated money to either reduce the price of an already fixed pet, or the extra money is added to the $85 spay/neuter gift certificate.

Who We Are

The Springlake Animal Shelter is 37 years old in 2010.

Adopting a friend

Adoption of a pet from the Springlake Animal Shelter is a simple and easy process. It generally requires one visit to the shelter. Depending on the animal(s) you are interested in, we may suggest that you bring members of your household to meet and interact with the animal(s). On the first visit you will:
- select the animal(s) in which you are interested
- complete an adoption application form
- receive any information available concerning the chosen animal(s)
- sign an adoption contract which will require you to have the animal(s) spayed or neutuerd
- pay an adoption fee
and lastly, take the newest member of your family home!

Fees:

All adult dogs and cats that ARE fixed are $100. This includes a first adult 4 in 1 vaccine for both, feline leukemia test and deworming for cats, and a certificate for a free health check-up for your new pet at either the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital, or Hometown Animal Hospital of Niagara, WI.

All puppies and adult dogs, AND, all kittens and adult cats that ARE NOT spayed are $100. This includes a first 4 in 1 vaccine, feline leukemia test and deworming for cats and kittens, deworming for puppies, and a certificate for a free health check-up for your new pet at either the Iron Mountain Animal Hospital, or Hometown Animal Hospital of Niagara, WI.

Also included is an $85 gift certificate towards the spay/neuter of your pet at the veterinarian of your choice. Most vet clinics in the U.P. and some in Wisconsin take our certificates. If not, per state law, the pet will be fixed and you must send us a copy of proof that it has been done. The Spring Lake Animal Shelter will reimburse YOU back the $85 for the spay/neuter.
