Below is a complete list of our animals that are currently available for adoption at the shelter. This list is updated every business day, at least once per day. Please note: this list only reflects animals currently available for adoption at the shelter. There are many more animals at the shelter than listed online; these animals are patiently waiting for their owners to come claim them. Therefore, if you have lost your pet you must call or stop by the shelter directly to file a lost animal report and see if your animal is at the shelter.
If you are looking to adopt an animal, please see our photo listings below. We list new animals for adoption once they've been to the vet clinic to be spayed or neutered, which happens every Thursday. Therefore, checking our listings on Thursday afternoon and Friday will show the greatest selection of our animals available for adoption. Puppies and kittens are adopted quickly (typically the same day they are listed online!), but we hope you will consider an adult animal as they still have many years ahead and love to give.
SHELTER INFORMATION...
The Allen Park Animal Shelter is located at 16850 Southfield Road. It is at the back of a large blue metal building at the back of the parking lot behind the Allen Park City Hall. The Allen Park Shelter accepts stray and owner surrenders for the following cities: Lincoln Park, Allen Park, and Melvindale.
Shelter hours, effective January 2009, are as follows: Monday (10am-3pm), Tuesday (12pm-3pm), Wednesday (CLOSED), Thursday (10am-3pm), Friday (10am-3pm). . We are closed on the weekends and for government observed holidays.
***NOW OFFERING MICROCHIPPING FOR PETS BELONGING TO THE PUBLIC FOR $35. (no annual fee or registration fee; we register the chip for you at no additional charge!) Please call the shelter for an appointment!***
Our adoption fees are as follows: Cats and kittens $35 adoption fee, Dogs and puppies $45 adoption fee. All snimals offered for adoption are surgically sterilized prior to adoption. **Adopters will receive 1-free month of Pet Health Insurance with Shelter Care Insurance and a microchip registered directly to the adopter**
