Roman ... is everything anyone could want in a dog. He's just a little older than most, which means he will very calmly and quietly move into your heart. Read more about this sweet dog. Click on photos for more information. |
Snuggle ...is the cat that needs you the most. This cat is high on the seniority list of the cats that have been at the shelter the longest. Adopt her or any other cat that is already spayed or neutered with the donation of a bag of cat food or litter during our CAT ADOPTION SPECIAL. Indulge your good-heartedness and give one of the 80 homeless cats at our shelter a new home. |

Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please click here. |
Write your phone number on your dog's collar. Spend a dollar on a permanent marker (Sharpie or other brand pen). Many of the Good Samaritans who bring in dogs to the shelter would have returned your pet directly to you, if they knew who the owner was.
Better yet, put your dog's license and rabies tags on its collar. Owners can be traced through the numbers on either tag.
Call WSOO Radio (AM 1230 on the dial) 632-2231 to put a lost or found pet on Pet Patrol, which airs daily at 9:45 AM. Radio station personnel report that they often are able to reunite lost pets with their owners even before the information hits the airwaves, by matching up a "found" call with a "lost pet" call.
'Found' ads are free in the Evening News. Phone 632-2235. Although 'lost ads' are not free, they are very inexpensive, considering the broad coverage to help you find your lost pet.
Take several photos of your pet, both head closeups and full body shots. If your pet gets lost, you can photocopy the pictures and add a description to make a poster.
Adoption Fees:
If an animal is older than 12 weeks and has already been spayed or neutered, the adoption fee is $50.00 for dogs and $25.00 for cats.
For puppies and kittens less than 12 weeks of age, the adoption fee is $50.00.
If an animal is older than 12 weeks but has not yet been spayed or neutered, there is no adoption fee. However, the adopter is required to pay a deposit of $25.00, of which $10.00 will be refunded upon written certification from a veterinarian that the surgery has been completed.
