Who We Are
Save and Train Puppy Rescue is a small home-based puppy rescue. We strive to train and socialize a puppy as much as we can during his/her stay to give them the best start possible. Puppies usually begin housebreaking and some basic obedience by a certified dog trainer. They are with kids, cats, and other dogs. Our goal is to start the puppy off on the right foot and provide the puppy with a well-matched/responsible home. Our hope is that the puppy will never end up in a shelter and will live it's life with one loving family. The puppies have had the age-appropriate shots, are wormed and may have had heartworm treatment(depending on the season). Most puppies have not been spayed/neutered and you must be willing to undertake this (a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit is required). Most puppies will go to homes with a parent who is home at least 75% of the time. Previous puppy rearing experience is a plus. We also require veterinary information at the time of adoption. Our adoption fees range from $100-$250 for most puppies.
Cats are occasionally fostered at another home and prices are less and vary.

Adopting a friend
Pet ownership is a big committment. It takes a lot of work and time Our adoption process is as follows:
1. Make phone contact with us. Expect to answer a series of questions regarding your home environment. You will be added to a list of potential homes. We will re-contact you regarding your interest (usually within 10 days of your initial call).
2. Be prepared to give a veterinary and personal reference.
3. We may do a home visit.
