Who We Are
Michigan Basset Rescue is federally recognized 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1992. All donations are tax deductible. Our primary goal has remained the same, to find permanent homes for bassets in need.
MBR is funded solely by private donations and fund raising events. MBR does not receive any local, state or federal funding. The majority of our expenses go to providing the necessary veterinary care for our bassets. This includes surgeries, spay/neutering, vaccinations, heartworm treatment, and more. All donations are tax deductible via our Donations Form.
Adopting a Friend
Prospective adoptive families are interviewed before they adopt a basset. Adoption fees for our bassets are:
Less than two years old: $250.00
Two years to five years $200.00
Six years old and up $150.00
All bassets are vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered, and screened for heartworm prior to home placement. If you are interested in adopting a basset, please fill out our online

Volunteering and Donations
We are always in need of foster homes and for individuals to help with our fundraisers. If you would like to be a foster home or volunteer your time, you may complete our online

Monetary donations are always gratefully accepted. Basset collectibles and other items that we may use in a raffle or auction are also appreciated.
