Adopting A Forever Furry Friend

We are trying to raise funds to become Tax-Exempt the Application fee is $500.00 and a 9 month process Well Laywer says its not 9 months anymore can you help with funding please send donations to Lawyer or to our shelter thank you for any help you can give every cent / dollar counts we have to date 4/29/2006 $500.00 need $1385 .00 more to pay for laywer fees

Who We Are

Alna is a small town located on the coast of Maine, 45 minutes north of Portland and 35 minutes south of Augusta. From Wiscasset: on the West Alna Road, 2 miles from the Wiscasset Raceway on the right. We care for animals who are strays or owner surrendered. WE ARE A NO-KILL SHELTER.

TEK PETS AND SUPPLIES, LLC donates space, time to the shelter. Helen Webber is the shelter manager. We depend on volunteers to clean, feed the animals, and walk dogs, as well as office tasks.

Donations needed: cat food, litter, any other animal items in good condition.

Also, the shelter does not have a sign yet. If you know of a sign-maker who would be willing to donate a sign, please tell them about us! We got one thanks to Brown's sign no it has not worked out back to Square 1

We have received some chain-link fencing and need help installing it. If you would like to help with the installation, please call 207-882-7421.

We are in the process of becoming a federal 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We have it as of Sept 18th 2005 We need to raise $1,385.00 to apply for the laywer fees. Your donations would be much appreciated! Any donations can be sent to our attorney. Can you become a volunteer or a foster parent for a shelter animal? Call us! Get involved for the sake of animals: 207-882-7421. We will send you a form to fill out to tell us a bit about yourself and what your preferences are (e.g., cats, dogs, other animals). Email us: animalshelter@clinic.net

WISH LIST

We are always in need of basic, everyday pet care items! Other specific items needed:

cat litter

cat food and dog food

treats of all kinds

paper towels

rolled towels for dispenser (Sams Club has a case for dispenser that works great)

any other animal-related items, new or used (in good condition)

small vaccuum cleaner

Q-tips, gauze, other medical supplies

blankets & towels

office supplies: file folders, copy paper, stamps, envelopes, etc.

we also need an Office Assitant!

monetary donations are ALWAYS needed and appreciated, to help pay for veterinary care and animal vaccinations

Some Of The Things We Do To Raise Money

We have a bin for bottles and cans to be donated for help in our neuter/spay program

"In Memory of" plates for folks who want to remember a loved one. Cost is $100.00 for lifetime engraved plate placed on a cat kennel.

"Chain of Life": a linked chain placed at our Town Hall adoption board. Charms are attached to stating "In Memory of..." The cost is $15.00 for a heart or circle.

All proceeds pay for stainless steel kennels, which cost over $3,000.00. We have now paid for half of a unit consisting of 10 cat holding units.

Adoption fees are: (varies, depending on vaccination/ testing and medical that has been given to bring animal up to par for adoption )

Canines Donation range from $150.00-$200.00

Puppies are $100.00-$150.00

Felines $100.00-$165.00

Kittens $55.00-$75.00 Animals will be UTD on Shots needed at the time for the age of animal and Tested for HTW/Lyme, Fel/Lek disease and N/S if (old enough )

All animals are Microchipped and come with a prepaid registration envelope normally costing you $15.00 ( this could cost you $50-75.00 if you had to do on your own vets vary on pricing and procedure

Spay/Neuter at our cost if to young to be done at time of adoption. (We take a deposit for this on top of the adoption fee to assure that you follow through and it is refunded at the time of your completeing the N/S ) We offer our cost of N/S if done at our Vets located here in Wiscasset
