We have 2 pets each Month.
Our dog of the month for July is Chipper. he is a husky mix. Chipper is a very loyal and playfull dog.
Our cat of the month for July is Three Kittens. Merlow, Jack and Clby came to the shelter after their mother died. They were only a few weeks old, so one of our worker took them home and raised them herself. They are very loving, frisky kittens that want to be around people.

We have Kittens 5-24-09 Happy memorial day weekend ! Be safe!
We will not be having a yard sale this year.
We are looking for chain link fencing, gates, or pens that are free. This way we can section off our big play area so that more then one dog can be outside at a time. We could really use your 10 by 10 dog pens.
This will enable use to help dogs adjust and build our behavior program. This will also enable us to let more then one dog out at a time.
We have repaired our dog pens and outside gate area, can you believe we built it years ago. Time flys. Thank's to Kenny Corson.p>
We are no longer doing the Spay/ Neuter program.
We are having a Neuter clinic on June 6th at 12pm. Neuter and rabies is fifty dollars. Appointment Nessecary

*ANNOUNCEMENTS* We are trying to build a addition, So that we can have more room for the animals and make a medical room to do low cost spay and neuter. We have half the money we need 2,5OO more if you want to help call the shelter for details
Our prices have changed do to new state mandates. Cats are now $80 and Dogs are now $150. Both of these prices include a deposit insuring that the animal will be fixed.
PLEASE never approach a stray or injured animal. They can be dangerous. If you find one please call your local police or animal control officer. Sick, injured, and stray animals can get frightened easily. If you try to tame one or pick one up you are putting yourself and your loved ones at risk.
Please do not go into the fenced part without an employee. This area is for the animals to exercise in and for them to have one on one time with the employees. Thank you for your cooperation.

We have a free to a good home board for the towns that are contracted with our shelter. These animals do not cost any money and they do not get any of the extras that come with pets adopted from us. Each week a pet (or pets) will be listed in this section to help it find a home. The only way to find out more information on these animals is to call their contact number. The Shelter does not have them nor does it know all the details about the animals.

We are a little non-profit animal shelter in rural Maine. We are dedicated to finding these loving animals their forever homes. We also educate the importance of responsible pet ownership like spay/neutering, microchipping, tattooing, and licensing. Any cat or dog that is adopted from us gets a refuned when you get them fixed.
NOTE: Most of our animals are strays so we really cannot tell you about their likes, dislikes, and history. We can only tell you what we have discovered while the animal is at the shelter.
