Our Pet List

Some tips to keep your pet healthy

1. Keep your dog on heartworm preventative all year round and have them tested each year.

2. Provide your pet with a form of identification at all times, and remember to keep your pet on a leash when off of your property.

3. NEVER feed your pet chocalate!

4. Spay and Neuter your pets at an early age, this helps prevent pet overpopulation, a strong urine odor, different types of cancer and wandering.

5. Has your pet ever runaway? Ask your veterinarian about microchipping, a national homing device for animals. Most shelters, labs, and vets check lost/found animals to see if they have been chipped.

6. One out of every two pets is overweight. Help your pet stay healthy by excercising him daily and limiting his table scraps.

7. Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever are two of many tick born diseases. Treat your pet with Frontline Plus every month to prevent ticks from infesting your pets and causing fatal diseases. This treatment also kills all stages of fleas. See your veterinarian for more information. NOTE: DO NOT buy over-the-counter flea preventatives for your pets; many are not labled safe for your pet and can cause sever illness or even death.

8. A note concerning the summer! when boarding your pet, be sure to ask fellow pet owners for suggestions. Be sure to take a tour of the facility and see where your pet will be staying. Also, get references...ask questions (i.e. Is someone there 24 hours a day? Is there a vet on-call?...)

Who We Are

Maryland Network for Animals, an all volunteer animal rescue organization, was established to benefit homeless, abused and abondoned animals.
The organization is maintained to provide for the rescue, care, and placement of purebred dogs and cats, mixed breed dogs and cats, and anything else needing care!
Our aim is to find permanent, responsible homes which are secure, loving and healthy. We attempt, to the best of our ability, to place these pets as safe, well mannered family members.
To adopt one of our rescued pets, volunteer your time/services, send donations or to receiver further information regarding out organization feel free to contact our President.

What we do

Our volunteers assist in networking to breed specific resuces, obedience instructors, behaviorists, and much more. We provide housing and veterinary care in limited foster homes.
We seek to achieve our placement goals by performing an initial screening of the adopting family and the environment in which the rescued pet may be placed. We match adoptable pets to the lifestyles and personalities of families wanting to adopt. They must sign a binding contract which will assure that the rescued pet will receive proper and humane care and teatment throughout its lifetime. Finally, we receive the required adoption fee (to defray the cost of medical/fostering expenses and spaying and neutering).
