Who We Are
The BaltimoreCounty Animal Shelter is the only animal shelter in Baltimore County that is authorized to accept lost pets. As an open admission shelter, no animal is ever turned away. The Animal Shelter and Animal Control are a Division of the Baltimore County Department of Health.
Sadly, many of the lost and runaway dogs and cats arriving at our shelter are not wearing any identification. The Animal Shelter urges pet owners to protect their pets with annual license tags. Consider micro-chipping as an additional form of identification. It is equally important that pet owners have all of their pets spayed or neutered. Call for a low-cost spay/neuter referral.
Adopting a friend
Our pets are placed up for adoption the minute they arrive. Some pets are ready to go and some need to see the veterinarian before they go to their new homes. You may have to make more than one trip to get your new family member. The adoption fee is $60.00 for all pets. This includes a veterinary exam, health certificate, a first set of vaccinations, micro-chipping with lifetime registration and the required annual Baltimore County dog or cat license. Our adoption hours are Monday through Saturday 10 am - 3 pm.

The Animal Shelter is located about 15 minutes north of Towson. Take exit 27B (Dulaney Valley Road) North off Interstate 695 in Towson. After crossing the Loch Raven Reservoir, bear off to your right to continue on Dulaney Valley Road. Follow the signs for Dulaney Valley Road until it dead ends at Manor Road. Make a left on Manor Road. You will find us in less than a mile on your left side at 13800 Manor Road. Look for the big green sign.
