The Baltimore County Department of Health plans to encourage responsible
pet ownership by offering a 50-percent discount on spay and neuter services
for cats and dogs. While patrolling communities and providing outreach and
public education, Animal Services Officers will distribute half-off coupons
to Baltimore County residents who have pets that need to be spayed or
neutered.

Adopting A Friend

Adoption Hours
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. No adoption hours on Monday and Tuesday.

 

View adoptable pets at the Animal Shelter. To adopt a pet (PDF) you must present a photo identification card, be at least 18 years old and make a $20 deposit (cash, check and credit card payments are accepted) for the pet. The total adoption fee is $65 for dogs and $50 for cats. This fee includes:

  • A spayed or neutered pet (dog, puppy, cat or kitten)
  • Rabies shot
  • License (required by Baltimore County law)
  • First series of vaccinations
  • Microchip with lifetime registry

The Baltimore County Animal Services Division is responsible for enforcing the laws that protect animals, sheltering and returning stray pets to their owners and promoting responsible pet ownership (PDF).

To make an animal cruelty complaint anonymously, please call Animal Services. Please be advised that animal cruelty complaints are the only type of complaint that can be made anonymously.
