Our Featured Pet...MACY, Female 6 years old..... Certain that the cutoff for a lap dog is quite a bit higher than her mere 38 lbs, Macy delights in cuddling, confident that she is not only welcome in your lap, but probably needed. Macy's outgoing nature and affectionate disposition are also born of her very deep desire to bond with her own human. Her rescuer has noted the huge reservoir of intelligence, loyalty and devotion in Macy. Affectionate to some dogs and merely tolerant of other; she would also hope that there would never be a need for cats. Crate-trained, Macy is ready to prove herself to her own human. Extremely responsive, she is an alert and active communicator, scanning for evidence that she has done well, and she will be a joy to train, and a very quick study.

Founded in April 2001, we're happy that so many of our friends have found loving homes. Come, join, have fun, make a difference! We've been granted 501c(3) status by the IRS so your contributions are now tax exempt! Bealge Maryland has foster homes in Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. CONSIDER MAKING A DONATION: Let's sum up--you make a contribution--you help a dog--you get a tax deduction! This is defintely win-win. Please remember that no donation is too small. We aren't financed by a larger group or philanthropic organization. It's the little contributions that help our dogs. Every cent goes to have our dogs vetted, to purchase meds for the dogs, and sometimes to purchase food. What sort of vetting do we provide? Spay/neuter, rabies & DHLPP shot(s), microchip, bordatella vaccination and physicals--and we provide each dog with the medical treatment he or she requires. So if we accept a dog who turns out to be ill, we do our best to give each dog the help he/she needs as if that dog were our only dog.Who We Are
Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland, Inc., or Beagle Maryland, is a non-profit corporation which helps and finds homes for homeless beagles. Beagle Maryland is manned 100% by volunteers and all dogs are fostered in private homes. Please read the STANDARDS FOR ADOPTION as you will be asked to sign a contract agreeing to these terms in order to adopt from us. We hope to hear from you. The dogs hope to hear from you. Keep in mind, this is not a fast process. Many of these dogs have had unlucky breaks through no fault of their own and it is our goal to change their luck. Every attempt is made to place all dogs in permanent, loving homes where the they will be cared for properly.
