Here's how you can find us:
ADOPTING A FRIEND
Adoptions provide joy for a family and a loving home for a stray or abused animal or an animal from an unwanted litter. We carefully screen each adoptive famly to ensure the best home situation exists for each animal. Spaying/neutering is not an option, but rather a requirement for all companion animals we release. The adoption fee ranges from $125 to $140 for dogs; $150 to $165 for puppies and small dogs; $70 to $95 for cats; and $100 to $125 for kittens. Rabies vaccination and tag are available for an additional $5.
FOR DOGS: Initial DHLPP and Bordatella vaccine, heartworm testing on dogs over 6 months of age, spaying/neutering, and micro-chipping for pet identification. All dogs are vaccinated and dewormed before being placed in the adoption program. Additionally, dogs over 12 weeks of age receive monthly heartworm preventative while staying in the shelter.
FOR CATS: Initial FVCRP vaccine, feline leukemia testing on kittens, feline leukemia testing and FIV testing on adult cats, spaying/neutering, and micro-chipping for pet identification. All cats are vaccinated and dewormed before being placed in the adoption program. Included in this fee are one distemper vaccination, feline leukemia testing, one dose of worming medicine, spay/neuter surgery fees in full at participating veterinarians, and micro-chipping for pet identification.
