Please let us introduce our Pet of the Month......
Thelma and Louise

Thelma & Louise came to us in April of 2008. They are 8-years old and had spent those 8 years being used for breeding and not much else. They had a lot to learn about the good life, but within the first two weeks had made great strides in trusting people and as the saying goes, "you've come a long way, baby!" These 2 girls now greet the staff at the boarding kennel where they are staying with a "happy prance" and follow them around the yard. They have learned to play with toys and absolutely love the company of other dogs. They've also learned "Paw" (shake hands) and use that to greet people and as a way to invite the staff to pet them.

The girls are in good health. They had intestinal parasites when they first came to us, but that has been treated and is completely cleared up. They are spayed and up to date on shots. They are 90% housetrained -- if given access to the outside, they will always go outside; they might have an accident in a new home at first, but should completely housetrain very easily. .

These 2 girls are extremely bonded to one another, so we are looking for a home where they can be together. They enjoy spending time outside, so we are requiring a fenced in yard, to make life easier for everyone. If you are interested in learning more about Thelma & Louise or in possibly adopting them, please email us .

About MidAtlantic Samoyed Rescue...
We are a group of volunteers who hate the idea of even one adoptable Samoyed being euthanized in a shelter, running scared in the streets, or in a bad situation. So, we've banded together to save those that we can. We provide foster homes, vet care, training, love & attention to homeless or unwanted Samoyeds until the perfect forever home can be found.

We cover Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, all-volunteer organization.

You can read more about us by visiting our main webpage.

If You are Interested in Adopting a Dog From Us...
The first step towards adopting a dog from our organization is to fill out & return our adoption application. The information we get from that will help us figure out which dog(s) might be a good fit for your situation. For instance, if you have small children/other dogs/cats, we will only consider dogs that we know to be good with kids/dogs/cats.

Once we have received your adoption application, we will contact you with any questions we might have and will arrange a convenient time to do a home visit. The home visit allows us to meet you in person, make sure the environment is safe for a Samoyed, and allows you to ask us any questions you might have.

After the home visit is done, when we have a dog that we feel might be a good match for you/your family, we arrange a time for you to meet. If all goes well, we take care of the paperwork & voila, you have a new member of your family!!

Adoption Fees
Our adoption fees range from $250-350, depending on the dogs. Our basic fee is $250, unless our expenses (shelter fees, vet care, etc.) exceeds that amount. If we've spent more than $250, we ask you to pay our expenses, up to $350. Any amount over $350 comes out of our funds. Seniors or special needs dogs may have their fees reduced, depending on the circumstances.....

We are an all-volunteer organization; your fees go towards helping the dogs!!
