For more than 25 years, the Basset Hound Rescue League (BHRL)
has responded to public calls by helping thousands of neglected or
abandoned hounds. We rescue, rehabilitate, and find new forever
homes for dogs, primarily Basset Hounds. We are not a shelter per
se, in that we have no single physical location housing all of the
adoptable animals. Our adoptable animals are acquired from a five
state area (Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and
Delaware). These dogs are awaiting new homes in various locations
(foster homes, kennels, vet hospitals).
