How can we help the animals? By giving someone (maybe you) $5000 or sending two people to Hawaii. Sound crazy? It's true. Our goal is always to continue to offer our services to provide food, shelter, medical help and new homes to the animals that come to us. For a $50 conribution, you'll be given a unique ticket number that could be drawn in October as the winner of the money or the trip...your choice! There are other prizes as well. You can get a ticket, read the rules, or find more information at http://www.humanesocietycc.org/raffle.html and help ensure an animal a better life. Your help is always appreciated. Now you have a chance to know how much. Click here.
The Humane Society of Charles County started in 1978 with only 25 members and less than $100. Our single objective was to rescue dogs and cats hit by cars. Today we are over 1,000 families strong! Our services have greatly expanded over the years and we are now able to shelter and rehabilitate rescued animals in our modern facility on Industrial Park Drive in St. Charles. In 1989, we expanded our dog run area from 10 to 24 runs. Thanks to your contributions and generous grants, we began operating a spay/neuter clinic on the premises! Because of your support, we can continue to operate for the benefit of both the animals and residents of Charles County.

Donations for new dog runs.We recently upgraded the old chain link in the first 10 runs in our dog kennel section. The new run fronts and doors that have a privacy panel on the bottom and glass on the top. If you visit our shelter now you will find that it is a little quieter in the lobby area. The dogs are less stressed and feel more secure because they have more privacy but visitors can still see them through the glass tops. The next step is to raise funds to replace the run fronts in the second run area.
We are looking for sponsors for each of the doors. The cost per door is $750. Sponsors will have a 7" x 5" plaque permanently attached to the door, inscribed with their name or any other information they would like. If you are interested in making the lives of our abandoned animals just a little bit better while they wait for new homes, please contact Jean Stuller at 301-645-8181 or email her.
