HART for Animals Inc.
Our Featured Pet...
Cassie, a sweet and gentle Shepherd/Collie Mix, 9 years old, needs a home that will be enriched by her lovely disposition. She is currently being fostered in a home with children, cats, and dogs. As a mature dog, Cassie treasures the joys of having a home, after losing hers unexpectedly.
In 2009, HART rescued 620 animals from the county's animal shelter/control facility. These animals were transported to rescue groups where they were adopted into their forever homes. In order to reduce pet overpopulation in the county, HART opened a low-cost spay/neuter clinic in December 2009. Services are provided at affordable prices to pet owners who love their pets but do not have the financial resources to neuter or spay them. The clinic was possible thanks to the generosity of volunteer vets and donations from other veterinary practices and many supporters.
HART is also raising funds to build a permanent animal adoption center in the county. The objective is to create a place where the animals can wait in a clean and healthy environment until they are adopted. One of HART's key fundraising events is coming on May 29! It is called "K-9s, Tunes, and Brews" and will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Wisp Resort. It is a day for family, dogs, and many, many fun activities! And the result will be additional money for the building fund! Visit the HART website at www.hartforanimals.org for details!
