Meet Joey. He is one amazing little creature. His strength and resilience is nothing short of a miracle. He was rescued by a good Samaritan who found him tied to a pole in the freezing weather and brought him to us. We were devastated and shocked at his condition when we first laid eyes on him. It was the worst case of (noncontagious, treatable) mange we had ever seen and a clear case of neglect/abuse. His eyes were swollen shut and he had so many sores that is the morning his blanket stuck to him. He was very weak and could barely lift his head. We all took turns hand feeding him a combination of baby food and puppy chow and carried him outside to use the bathroom. He dutifully took his medication and endured medicated bathes twice a week like a real trooper. We are all so relived and proud as he turned the corner and is now recovering quickly. He now greets us with a wagging tail and yips of excitement. Despite this horrible ordeal he has developed into a sweet endearing little puppy (4-6 months old) that showers us with kisses. He has his appetite back and is growing like a weed. He LOVES to play with his toys and nuzzle in our laps. In time his fur will grow back but even without it we think that he is the most beautiful boy in the world! If you would like to send donations to help with the cost of Joey's medical bills send them to P.O. Box #48 Berlin, MD 21811
